#4 TravelDiary - A world of endless spring... Pamintul Eternei Primaveri...

[EN] Algarve: A world of endless spring
The purpose of my first trip to Portugal was to visit my parents, who are living there. My journey started early in the morning on 26 May from Alkmaar. I took the train to the Maastricht Airport, and from Maastricht I flew to Faro...
After 3 hours spent in the air :) I arrived at the airport in Faro... Before landing I could admire the wonderful view from the plane over the sea and Portuguese coast... When I left the airport, I could enjoy hot weather, as at that time in the Netherlands it was still cold... Nice weather was a good sign, my adventure had only started...

My parents live in the South of Portugal, in the region of Algarve, one of the most popular turistic destination from Europe because of nice weather all year around and unique sand beaches... I spent there 9 days, during which I fully enjoyed my holiday...
On the day I arrived in Faro I had the opportunity to see a bit this old city, but at the same time very beautiful... There I saw for the first time orange trees with oranges on them... Me and my mom enjoyed an ice cream and cold water in a nice shopping center... On our way to my mom's place we stopped in Quarteira and Vilamoura, both of them amazing places, Quarteira for wonderful beach and Vilamoura for its harbour.
The city that impressed me the most was Albufeira, with its gold sand beaches, outstanding rocks close to the beaches, sharp edges of the cliffs, and green-turquoise ocean water... I liked going for a walk in the evening in the old part of the city, with a plenty of shops, cafes and restaurants... I liked also walking on the beaches after the sunset... In the other side of the city you will find a street full of restaurants, discos and pubs, called English street... Another day I visited the beach in Santa Eulalia, it was after sunset, a great opportunity to take some pictures in the evening...
I wanted to see the ocean in the morning, therefore one day while others were still sleeping, I took my camera and I walked to the beach from Olhos D'Agua... The view was incredible, and I enjoyed the sun rising up behind the cliffs, the silent ocean, the cold sand under my feet and the calm wind...
In one of the last days of my holiday in Algarve, I visited Silves and Monchiques, two beautiful cities... In Silves you can vizit the Maur Castel, the main attraction of the city, which could be seen from every part of the city because of its specific red colour and arabic arhitecture... Monchiques represents th highest point in Algarve, from where you could admire the amazing view over the region...
This is how I spent my time in Algarve, I enjoyed nice weather, I admired the wonderful beaches and landscapes and I saw my parents...

[RO] Algarve: Pamintul Eternei Primaveri
In drum spre Olhos D’Agua, ne-am oprit in Quarteira si Vilamoura, ambele extraordinare, Quarteira cu plaja deosebita si Vilamoura cu portul marin…
Mergeam des in Albufeira, unde imi place sa fac plimbari pe malul oceanului dupa asfintitul soarelui…
In una din ultimele zile petrecute in Algarve am mers in excursie in Silves si Monchique, alte doua orase minunate din regiune…
Cam asa mi-am petrecut eu timpul in Portugalia, si anume in Algarve, pe linga peisajele frumoase si lucrurile minunate din regiune, mi-am vazut parintii…
